Mark "The Samoan Monster" Hunt looks to be joining the ranks of the UFC.
In a recent interview with Jordan Breen from Sherdog Hunt revealled that he will most likely be fighting on the UFC 119 card. Hunt recognizes that this could be his last opportunity and has conceded that things could have been different if he'd taken his training more seriously.
"If I'd trained as hard as some of the guys out here, I probably
wouldn't be sitting here right now," Hunt said. "I'd be at a different
level of fighting. "I just used up my time," he said with a shrug. "I squandered it."
At the pinnacle of his career Hunt wont the K-1 World Grand Prix final and secured wins over notable fighters Mirko Cro Cop Filipovic and Wanderlei Silva. Since then however his transition into Mixed Martial Arts has been less than stellar, but Hunt will get one last chance at redemption.
Hunt will make his debut against Sean McCorkle (9-0-0) on September 25th. He is currently considering his training options including hooking up with Josh Barnett and Erik Paulson in the US.
